Suitable For

Our Epsom Salts are ideal for feeding:

  • Tomatoes
  • Broccoli
  • Cauliflower
  • Cabbage

Why Use Epsom Salts?

Magnesium is an essential nutrient that plays a key role in chlorophyll production, helping plants produce healthy green leaves and strong growth. A lack of magnesium can lead to yellowing foliage, particularly in heavy-feeding crops such as tomatoes. Regular use helps maintain healthy plants throughout the growing season.

When to Apply

For the best results:

  • Apply every 4 to 6 weeks during the growing season.
  • Use from March through to the end of August.
  • Apply to moist soil or water thoroughly before and after use during dry weather.
  • Avoid applying in hot, bright sunshine to help prevent leaf scorch when spraying foliage.

Application Rates

Approximate Measure

One handful is approximately 35g.

Trees & Shrubs

Scatter 20g per square metre around the base of established plants. Lightly work the granules into the soil without disturbing roots, then water thoroughly.

For a foliar feed, dissolve 35g in 4.5 litres of water and spray evenly onto the leaves using a fine mist. Avoid spraying during hot, sunny weather or when plants are suffering from drought stress.

Flowers & Vegetables

Apply 20g per square metre around plants and gently work into the soil surface. Keep granules away from leaves and stems before watering well.

Soil Improvement

For general soil conditioning, spread 20g per square metre over the soil and incorporate it into the surface before watering.

Can children and pets use treated areas?

Yes. Once the product has been applied, children and pets can safely return to the treated area immediately.

Will this attract wildlife or pets?

No. Epsom Salts are a mineral-based plant nutrient and do not contain organic ingredients that would normally attract animals.

What happens if I apply too much?

If excess granules have been applied, remove as many as possible by hand and water the area generously to help dilute and wash the remaining product into the soil.

How often should I use Epsom Salts?

For ongoing plant health, apply every 4–6 weeks throughout the growing season from spring until late summer.

Which plants benefit the most?

Plants with high magnesium requirements, including tomatoes, peppers, potatoes, brassicas, roses, shrubs, and many flowering plants, respond particularly well to regular applications.
